The Penner Family has operated Okno Manufacturing since 1981, and during that time they went through many tool boxes and workbenches. The problem was simple — they just weren't built well enough to survive heavy tools and dusty shop conditions.

Disappointed that nobody was offering a real solution, they designed and created their own workbenches that would actually stand up to their expectations. The most important feature: a hinge mechanism that wouldn't be affected by the dirt and debris typical in working shops.

After years of trial and error, the patented swivel hinge design proved most successful — and Swivel Storage Solutions was born.

The Penner family didn’t set out to start another storage company. They set out to solve a real problem. And once they had a hinge system that could handle dust, grit, vibration, and real-world abuse, there was no turning back.
